History and Folk Use
This "King of Herbs" has been cultivated by man for thousands of years, probably beginning in ancient Armenia about 2,000 B.C.. It was introduced to Greece about 490 B.C. soon afterwards, it spread into the rest of Europe and into Northern Africa. Spanish explorers brought it to the New World and gold prospectors carried it from South America into California. It was also introduced to the eastern shores and central regions of the U.S.A. directly from Europe.
Alfalfa was highly esteemed in folk medicine as a cure for all inflammations.
Modern Day Alfalfa
Alfalfa is a panacea for almost everything and if you're taking it for one major problem, it may well be helpful for a dozen others. Alfalfa contains all the known vitamins and minerals for life. The leaves of Alfalfa contain eight essential amino acids. Alfalfa is the basis for liquid chlorophyll, with a balance of chemical and mineral constituents almost identical to human hemoglobin.
Alfalfa is truly the "King of Herbs".
