In Response To: Encopresis... (Tina)
This was a tough one, I had never heard of Encopresis before and had a lot of learning & research to do. I did find one website that was particularly helpful to me, and might be to you as well, though I am sure that you have looked at thousands. I can't imagine how difficult it must be for your son, and I hope that any information that i can provide will be helpful.
From what I understand there are three basic pricipals to help treat encopresis.
1. Empty the large intestine
2. Once the large intestine is emptied, establish regular bowel movements.
3. Maintain very regular bowel movements.
All of the information I was able to find centered around childhood encopresis, but it seems to me the same pricipals would apply.
The "Mini Cleanse" that Joe Seters in the Special Report on Colon Problems will probably cover Step. 1 Emptying the large intestine.
Step 2. Establishing regular bowel movements- I think the Turkey Rhubarb formula will be helpful here. It is actually designed to promote regular bowel movements.
Step 3. Maintaining regular bowel movements- Again, I think this is best covered by the Turkey Rhubarb formula. It is designed to help make the current elimination normal, frequent and healthy. As well helping to restore muscle tone to the colon. With the stool softeners in the formula it should also help to prevent the hardening of the stool that is so common with this disorder.
I have included the web site that I found most helpful, please feel free to contact me if I can be of further assistance.
