Dog diagnosed with cancer

My friends dog had a very unusual growth on her rear right leg just above the "ankle" joint. The Vet removed as much of it as she could. It had attached itself to nerves and tendons etc.in this area. It had not invaded the bone but the vet did have to scrape it from the bone. She was not able to remove all of it. So now we know that it will probably grow back at some point. A sample was sent off to a pathologist who had a hard time even being able to say that it is a cancer. I just have a strong feeling that the diagnosis in incorrect. Is there any supplement that may be helpful for "Laney". She is such a special soul and I can not even fathom her not being here on earth with us .She is 9 years old ,but has the energy of a 1 year old. Please let me know what we can do for her. Thank you.
