The Herb Finder was founded in the fall of 1987 by Chad Van Seters. His father, Joseph became interested in herbs and herbal formulas some 14 years pervious after suffering a heart attack. Not finding the medicine given him by his doctor much to his liking, he began to look for alternative medical help. He was introduced to herbs by his chiropractor and was astounded by the results he recieved. He was so amazed by the results and the possibilities herbs offered, that he started to research them and take classes to learn all he could. After many years, he had become a Master Herbalist himself, and decided that he should venture out on his own and start to make his own formulas. With his own newly formed herbal formulas in hand Joseph would drive from St George Utah to Salt Lake City, approx 300 miles each way, each weekend and work out of 5 different herbal retail stores that carried his products. He would read eyes and sell his formulas. Year after year he did this. Then in 1987, Chad Van Seters started The Herb Finder based on Joseph's herbal formulas. Chad knew his father's formulas were good, that they really worked and the only problem was his father was, by this time, a full fledged herbalist and not a salesman. So armed with this, and little else, The Herb Finder came into existence in Salt Lake City in 1987. We had only five customers to start with, but knew we had some unique and wonderful herbal formulas to work with. Chad worked out of his apartment for the first year and a half. Finally he hired one person to help him with taking orders and packing and shipping. He would drive down to UPS each evening and send out the orders taken that day. As his client list grew so did the company. Eventually he would send three of his four sisters, Brook, Val and Karen, through Dr Christopher's Herbal School. In 1994 Chad's son Shawn started working with him. Shawn had never been on a computer before, but Chad taught him everything he knew about them, and now he complains that he has to go to his son for answers about computer because they change so much and Shawn is the only one that keeps up on them. Chad is very proud of his son's ability to get them on the web and run that part of the company. With over 50,000 clients having used and enjoyed the formulas, The Herb Finder sells do speak a lot for the formulas themselves. Chad has always maintained that you could have the best sales force in the world, the best support people backing them up, but if the clients do not receive the results from the formulas, nothing will work. You have to have formulas that work and work good, and then the other people will make the difference. He thinks he has the best of both.
